TREATMENTS . . . Pilates

Pilates is a 'mind-body' form of exercise which builds strength from the inside out, while re-balancing the body. Pilates can transform the way your body looks, feels and performs. It teaches body awareness, good posture and easy, graceful movement by improving flexibility, agility and economy of motion.

Based on a well-constructed philosophical foundation, the core of Pilates centres on 'awareness of your own body. It is built around eight principles: concentration, breathing, centring, control, precision, flowing movements, isolation and routine.

Pilates is suitable for all ages and fitness levels, and is particularly recommended for those who suffer from low back pain, sports injuries, women's health issues, osteo-arthritis, RSI and stress.

At Active Physiotherapy, we can offer Modified Pilates on a one-to-one basis or in small groups.
