TREATMENTS . . . Acupuncture
Acupuncture has been used successfully for more than 3,000 years.
Traditional Chinese medicine is based on the view that Qi (energy) flows freely when the body is in a healthy state. If there is a problem, energy stagnates. The stimulation of appropriate acupuncture points by inserting fine needles frees this stagnation by encouraging the brain to produce natural pain-relieving chemicals - endorphins.
Given Margaret Atkinson's
expertise in this field, which was enhanced by her studies with world-renowned specialists in Nanjing, China, we are able to offer acupuncture as part of a complete holistic physiotherapy treatment programme.
Acupuncture, which can be used in conjunction with other more modern modes of treatment, is particularly effective in dealing with whiplash injuries, acute and chronic spinal problems, headaches/migraines, soft tissue problems and arthritis.
