ACTIVE PHYSIOTHERAPY and sports injury clinic

OUR TEAM . . . Who's who

Margaret Atkinson, MCSP, Grad. Dip. Phys.
(Chartered Physiotherapist)

Margaret qualified from the world-renowned Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt
Orthopaedic Hospital in Oswestry, where she developed her lifelong
interest in chronic pain relief and rehabilitation
On moving to Swindon in 1985, she held the post of Senior Respiratory
Physiotherapist at Princess Margaret Hospital before leaving to open her
own private clinic.
She has been able to successfully practise her rehabilitation techniques
close to home as one of her sons, a County-standard athlete, improved
his personal best after recovering from two knee operations.
Margaret regularly attends lectures and courses to update her knowledge
and is a member of the Electrotherapy Special Interests Group.
She is also a fully-qualified acupuncturist, having gained her
post-graduate diploma in Chinese medicine and acupuncture from Coventry
University. More recently, she has enhanced her clinical practice at the
University of Nanjing, China.
Margaret is a certified specialist in the use of Kinesio tape, which is
becoming popular among the world’s leading sportsmen, and a proponent of
Functional Movement Screening, which is equally successful in identifying
causes of pain and dysfunction in top athletes or those with a more
sedentary lifestyle.
