ACTIVE PHYSIOTHERAPY and sports injury clinic

WHY PHYSIO? . . . You're in safe hands

Chartered physiotherapists are highly-trained mainstream medical professionals who are experts in the treatment of muscle, nerve, joint and ligament complaints as well as the prevention and management of injuries.

From July 9, 2005, only ‘physiotherapists’ registered with the Health Professions Council (the regulatory body) can use the title by law.

Chartered physiotherapists have undergone a three- or four-year degree course prior to qualification and they are routinely expected to attend at least four courses a year to improve their knowledge base in the light of new research studies.

A physiotherapist whose name is followed by the letters MCSP (Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists or FCSP (Fellow of the Chartered Society) guarantees that their qualification is recognised; that they are governed by a professional code of conduct and they are covered by professional liability insurance.

Margaret Atkinson and Helen Hall at Active Physiotherapy are both registered with all the major health insurance companies.
