TREATMENTS . . . Biomechanics
Biomechanics is the study of how bones and muscles enable the body to move and the relationship one movement has on other parts of the body.
These principles are used by physiotherapists to help improve the alignment of the body. Correct alignment aids the body to move efficiently, reducing the potential for muscles and joints to become injured.
A biomechanical assessment involves measurement of the joints of the lower limbs and an evaluation of how you walk and run.
Poor foot posture such as over-pronation, may compromise your gait. The alignment problem may not be painful, but a slight fault repeated with every step can become debilitating.
Foot function can be improved effectively using custom-made orthotics (supportive insoles) supplied by Active Physiotherapy.
